Opens in a new window Credit: Dyson Dyson Big Ball Turbinehead canister vacuum $219.99 at WalmartLet's face it. No one actually enjoys vacuuming. There may be the rare individual who relishes a chance to tidy up the house by ensuring all the dirt and debris are in their proper places, but for the most part, it's a chore that's often better left to the robots. So if you want to make it feel less frustrating, the key is finding a vacuum that's more efficient, or even fun to use. Dyson has a lineup with plenty of options for this, and there's one that you can grab for a significant discount right now.
As of May 27, get the Dyson Big Ball Turbinehead canister vacuum for $219.99, down from its usual price of $349.99, at Walmart. That's $130 off and a discount of 40%.
This corded vacuum has the iconic Dyson Ball technology at its base, which helps make steering feel a bit more effortless than you might be used to with other models. First and foremost, it attacks hair, dirt, crumbs, and assorted other debris with aplomb in a form factor that you don't have to struggle with while using it.
The Big Ball center with self-righting technology helps with both navigation and keeping it upright while you're using it. The vacuum also features a special bin-emptying feature so you can empty any trapped dust and particles with a button push. It has a telescopic handle, a long-reach wand with 360-degree articulation, and filtration that runs through the entirety of the vacuum. Plus, it has a few different types of brushes for tackling different jobs.
If you're ready to change the way you approach vacuuming, this Dyson pick is one you'll want to keep an eye on, especially for under $250. That's a rarity for this brand.

When Tesla sales started declining in Europe earlier this year, it was unclear how much of it was due to CEO Elon Musk's politics and how much was due to some buyers waiting to buy the refreshed Model Y.
Well, now we know: It was, very probably, mostly because of Musk.
New data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) shows that Tesla sales dropped a whopping 52.6 percent in the EU this April, compared to last year (that's 49 percent if you include the UK and EFTA). For the entire January to April period, Tesla sales are down 46.1 percent in the EU, and 38.8 percent in the EU combined with the UK and EFTA (the EFTA region includes Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland).
SEE ALSO: Elon Musk and DOGE reportedly tried to take over the U.S. Copyright OfficeThe numbers are even worse when you consider that the EU saw a 34.1 percent increase in battery electric vehicle sales in Europe in April (that's 27.8 percent for the EU+EFTA+UK).
In total, Tesla sold only 7,261 cars in April in the entire EU+EFTA+UK region, a far cry from the 14,228 cars the company sold in April 2024.
Notably, BYD sold more electric cars than Tesla in Europe this April, the first time the Chinese automaker managed to do so.
The decline of Tesla sales definitely cannot be attributed solely, or even largely, to the Model Y refresh, which has been available in the EU since January.
Instead, it's far more likely that a large number of potential buyers are disgusted with Musk's behavior beyond his DOGE-related actions. As a quick reminder, Musk expressed his support to Germany's far-right party AfD, started a poll asking whether the U.S. should "liberate" the UK from its "tyrannical government," and absolved Hitler and other dictators of genocide in a since-deleted post.

WhatsApp is dropping hints that it may finally release a standalone iPad app.
On Monday, the company reacted with an :eyes: emoji to a comment on X suggesting that a WhatsApp app should be added to iPad.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.Granted, that's as vague as it can be, but it's not the first time the company hinted at working on a standalone app for Apple's tablet. We've heard reports of Meta (the owner of WhatsApp) testing such an app as early as 2021.

Four former Volkswagen executives have been convicted of fraud and sentenced to prison by a German court, continuing the lengthy fallout from 2015's "Dieselgate" emissions cheating scandal.
In the ruling handed down on Monday, former head of Volkswagen's diesel engine development Jens Hadler received a prison sentence of four and a half years for his involvement in the emissions testing fraud. The next longest prison term was handed to former head of engine electronics Hanno Jelden, who received two years and seven months. Emissions expert Thorsten D. was given a suspended sentence of one year and 10 months, while former components development head Heinz-Jakob Neusser's suspended sentence was one year and three months.

Dozens more executives still await trial, including former CEO Martin Winterkorn who resigned over the scandal.
The Dieselgate scandal erupted in September 2015, when the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) accused Volkswagen of cheating on emissions tests to meet regulatory standards. Specifically, the EPA found that Volkswagen was programming diesel engines to detect whether they were being subjected to emissions testing, and activate measures to temporarily lower such output.
Therefore, while Volkswagen's cars appeared to adhere to U.S. standards when tested, they were actually emitting up to 40 times more nitrogen oxide pollutants than permitted during normal operation. The automaker ultimately admitted that approximately 11 million diesel cars across the globe were fitted with these prohibited emissions-cheating "defeat devices," with vehicles from Volkswagen as well as its luxury subsidiaries Audi and Porsche impacted.
In a separate case in a U.S. court, Volkswagen pled guilty to conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and using false statements to import cars, and agreed to pay $4.3 billion in criminal and civil charges in 2017. The company also faced consequences from other countries across the globe, being charged billions in fines, facing multiple lawsuits, seeing stock plummet, and suffering significant reputational damage.
Volkswagen has been working to rebuild its good name in the decade since, and properly earn its environmentally-friendly reputation. Betting big on electric vehicles, the company aims to exit Europe's combustion engine business and go all-electric in the region by 2033.
