Welcome to your guide to Pips, the latest game in the New York Times catalogue.
Released in August 2025, the Pips puts a unique spin on dominoes, creating a fun single-player experience that could become your next daily gaming habit.
Currently, if you're stuck, the game only offers to reveal the entire puzzle, forcing you to move onto the next difficulty level and start over. However, we have you covered! Below are piecemeal answers that will serve as hints so that you can find your way through each difficulty level.
How to play PipsIf you've ever played dominoes, you'll have a passing familiarity for how Pips is played. As we've shared in our previous hints stories for Pips, the tiles, like dominoes, are placed vertically or horizontally and connect with each other. The main difference between a traditional game of dominoes and Pips is the color-coded conditions you have to address. The touching tiles don't necessarily have to match.
SEE ALSO: Wordle today: Answer, hints for March 28, 2026The conditions you have to meet are specific to the color-coded spaces. For example, if it provides a single number, every side of a tile in that space must add up to the number provided. It is possible – and common – for only half a tile to be within a color-coded space.
Here are common examples you'll run into across the difficulty levels:
Number: All the pips in this space must add up to the number.
Equal: Every domino half in this space must be the same number of pips.
Not Equal: Every domino half in this space must have a completely different number of pips.
Less than: Every domino half in this space must add up to less than the number.
Greater than: Every domino half in this space must add up to more than the number.
If an area does not have any color coding, it means there are no conditions on the portions of dominoes within those spaces.

There’s just something about major sale events and giant TVs. Maybe it’s all those viral clips of shoppers wrestling over TVs on Black Friday back in the day, but when it comes to a sale extravaganza, there are few products that feel more satisfying to get at a knockdown price than a big-ass smart TV.
Thankfully, the Amazon Big Spring Sale is here — running through March 31 — with knockdown prices on all sorts of categories, from tech and headphones to drones and Apple devices. And if you are in the market for a new TV, we recommend taking a look at its lineup of discounted Hisense TVs.

Sure, you’ll need a room big enough to fit this absolute beast of a smart TV but there really is nothing like losing yourself in a movie or game on this kind of scale. This TV uses Mini LED display technology and QLED color, as well as AI-powered picture processing and upscaling, to deliver stunning visuals.
You’ll find all your favorite streaming apps through the Fire TV operating system, plus an arsenal of features for dedicated gamers: A 144Hz refresh rate, a Game Mode Pro, and super low latency. Bose is late to the party, but the popular audio tech brand is finally getting involved in Amazon’s Big Spring Sale. There are now deals on three of its best models: the flagship QuietComfort over-ear headphones, premium QuietComfort Ultra headphones, and the innovative Bose Ultra Open Earbuds.
While none of these are currently at their lowest-ever price, they’re still at significant discounts for such high-ticket headphones. These join a stack of other deals on headphones in the Big Spring Sale, which runs through March 31.
We’ll keep tracking deals on headphones throughout the sale, so if you’re specifically looking for Bose discounts, keep tabs on this page as the Big Spring Sale continues.
Best Bose headphones deal Opens in a new window Credit: Bose Bose QuietComfort Headphones $249 at AmazonThe Bose QuietComfort Headphones are tried and tested and well-regarded — they're one of the go-to models for tech-savvy music lovers. They boast highly-rated active noise cancellation with two ANC modes — Quiet mode to shut out external noise completely and Aware mode that keeps you in tune with your surroundings. The sound is excellent and customisable via EQ settings on the Bose Music. Oh, and did we mention they look super stylish and available in lots of colorways? These are headphones that make a streetwise statement. That’s all reflected in the usual price point of $349, which makes this $100 discount a sweet-sounding offer.
Best Bose premium headphones deal Opens in a new window Credit: Bose Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones $399 at AmazonThe Bose QuietComfort Ultra are an upgrade of the brand’s flagship headphones thanks to added spatialized audio — 3D audio technology that places the sound all around you for a fully immersive listening experience. They also boast Bose’s signature noise cancellation, which combines with spatialized audio to create next-level Immersion and Cinema modes. And the noise cancellation isn’t just active, it’s adaptive, which means it reacts to your surroundings and adjusts in real time. This isn’t their lowest price — they previously dropped to $379 — but they’re now just $20 shy of that mark.
Best Bose earbuds deal Opens in a new window Credit: Bose Bose Ultra Open Earbuds $229 at AmazonA Big Spring Sale discount on the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds is very welcome indeed. These babies are pricey for earbuds but for good reason: They’re a premium, innovative addition to the still-developing open earbud category. Rather than jam into your ear canal and close you off from the outside world, they clip to your ear and use OpenAudio tech to deliver immersive spatialised sound. You can still hear your surroundings but there’s no audio leakage. Your tunes are totally private. As with the QuietComfort Ultra they’re just $20 off their lowest-ever price, with a current saving of $70 on offer.
SAVE 37%: As of March 28, you can get the Sony WH-CH520 wireless headphones for $43.95, down from $69.99, at Amazon. That's a 37% discount or $26.04 price cut.
Sony WH-CH520 $35 at AmazonIf you prefer on-ear headphones over earbuds (I hate how those little drivers feel crammed in my ears, too!), Mashable's Alex Bracetti says the Sony WH-CH520 are the best headphones under $50, period. At just $43.95 during Amazon's Big Spring Sale (a 37% drop from the $69.90 list price), they're an easy and affordable recommendation.
SEE ALSO: Amazon Big Spring Sale 2026: Live updates on the top dealsThe Sony WH-CH520 offer up to 50 hours of playtime on a single charge, and if you forget to plug them in, a quick three-minute charge will buy you another 1.5 hours of listening time. While they don't have active noise cancellation or a 3.5mm audio jack for wired listening, they still deliver a sound profile that is "nicely balanced," where "deep lows blend well with transparent mids and crisp highs."
They also feature Sony's DSEE technology to upscale compressed music files. "This technology upscales the clarity and depth on all tracks — no matter the format — achieving near-hi-res quality when playing stored files or streaming music online," writes Bracetti.
Even though the plastic construction feels a bit flimsy and the on-ear design lets in some ambient noise, getting Sony's proprietary sound tech and multipoint Bluetooth connection (so you can connect to two devices at the same time) makes them an unbeatable value at this price.

Mashable's robot vacuum expert, Leah Stodart, tested and loved the Eufy C28 when it came out last month. At $499.99 for the Big Spring Sale, the Eufy C28 is not only the most affordable roller mop robot vacuum you'll find this season, but the best budget robot vacuum and mop combo period.
If you tried a cheap mopping robot vacuum in the past that smeared more than scrubbed, let the Eufy's self-rinsing roller mop change your mind. Its fluffy bath towel material is already more absorbent than the typical thin mopping pad — but just to ensure liquid spills aren't being smeared around, the C28's roller gets rinsed with clean water as it's mopping. Its self-emptying dock also washes and dries the mop after each cleaning.

The newest Fire TV Stick in Amazon's lineup, the 4K Select, was one of Mashable readers' (and editors') favorite deals from Black Friday. We saw it drop to a wildly low price of $9.99 during that sale, but right now you can grab it for $14.99 using the code FTV4K. It offers support for Alexa+, HDR10+, Amazon Kids+, Amazon Luna, Xbox Game Pass, and NordVPN, and it's already more than 50% off.

Weighing in at just under 25 pounds, Anker's Solix C1000 Gen 2 portable power station makes an excellent camping companion. The power station can keep your devices juiced up and even has enough oomph to power up some cute fairy lights or whip up a quick meal in the air fryer. It can also recharge in under 50 minutes, which can really come in handy when you're off the grid. Mashable's reviewer called it "the perfect model for taking on a weekend camping trip or keeping around the house for occasional power outages."

If you're an on-the-go gamer, the Asus ROG Flow Z13 should make your shortlist. It has a 180Hz display (so smooth), a detachable keyboard, and an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip that offers RTX 4060-level graphics performance. GTA V star Ned Luke he uses one when he travels, and he told us it's "an animal." The model with 32GB of RAM and a terabyte of disk space is $330 off on Amazon, and it comes with a free copy of Crimson Desert. It's never been cheaper before. (Best Buy is price-matching it, but doesn't throw in the free game code.)

We're happy to report that the bestselling Ninja Creami is just as great as TikTok says it is. Once you fill and freeze its pints with the base of your choice, "It makes ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and smoothie bowls with just the press of a button," writes Mashable's Samantha Mangino.
This TikTok-famous appliance is marked down to $199.99 during the Big Spring Sale (or $30 off), which matches deals at Best Buy, Target, and the SharkNinja website. However, Amazon one-ups them all by throwing in a free $20 credit on top of that discount; you save $50 total there.

The Laifen hair dryer that Mashable's hair tool expert, Bethany Allard, named as the best Dyson Supersonic dupe is on sale for the spring sale. But maybe you won't be as hard-pressed to find a good dupe when the fanciest Supersonic is at a new record-low price.
The Supersonic Nural's main flex over the regular Supersonic is a system of sensors that automatically lower heat near your head, preventing a sizzling scalp. The Nural can also remember your preferred settings just based on the attachment being used, and knows to pause airflow when you set it down.

Warmer weather means open windows at home. And for the lucky folks, open windows at home mean allergy-induced sniffles. Make this the year that you finally get an air purifier for your home. This Blueair model can clean up to 1,858 square feet in an hour (a much larger reach than other purifiers under $200 in this list). The powerful HEPA filter can remove airborne particles that irritate our respiratory systems, like pollen, dust, mold spores, pet dander, and smoke, so you'll benefit from the benefits of filtered air indoors year-round.

Amazon is running a huge sale from March 25 to 31. No, we're not talking about another Prime Day. We're talking about the Amazon Big Spring Sale 2026.
This event might not carry quite the same weight as Prime Day or Black Friday, but it's still one of the biggest sales events on the shopping calendar, and this year's deals are surprisingly good. This spring-themed event will go hard on outdoor equipment like drones and power stations, spring cleaning essentials like robot vacuums, and everything else shoppers are looking to buy after a long, cold winter. Our professional deal hunters have spotted record-low prices on Apple, Fire TVs, Kindles, and Sony headphones.
We've lined up all the best deals from the Amazon Big Spring Sale. Keep scrolling for the full schedule of events and the latest live updates, price drops, and news from the Mashable shopping team.
From If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You to Nightbitch and Die My Love, mothers in crisis are leading cinema lately. And while woman-on-the-verge is a well-explored cinematic trope, the sheer amount of recent releases exploring the subject is pointing towards a change in the way filmmakers tell mothers’ stories. In this How it Hits video, we look into the history of ‘bad moms’ on screen, and how recent films may be reflecting a wider cultural shift.

For those looking to capture slow-motion footage, you can opt for 4K at 120fps, while night flying is made easy thanks to 360-degree Nightscape Omnidirectional Sensing and a nighttime return-to-home function. It is a premium choice for content creators looking to capture epic aerial shots.
We have seen this price before, but it has never dropped lower. Given the continued uncertainty surrounding the future of DJI drones in the U.S., we don't expect a deal this good to stick around for much longer. There is no need to panic, but if you have been eyeing an upgrade, we wouldn't recommend waiting.

Amazon’s Big Spring Sale has officially begun, and there's plenty are plenty of deals for Pokémon shoppers to hunt down.
Amazon has discounts and preorder price cuts across a wide range of categories — gaming deals, TV deals, Lego deals, and much more — making this a good time to shop if your wishlist includes sealed TCG products, collector boxes, or a couple of first-party Pokémon titles.
That's what we love about these sale events. No matter what you're into, Amazon has you covered. And if Pokémon is your thing, look no further. Wannabe trainers can pick up some great bargains.
Best Pokémon Elite Trainer Box deal Opens in a new window Credit: The Pokémon Company Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Perfect Order Elite Trainer Box $102.95 at AmazonWith Pokémon TCG's Perfect Order expansion finally out this week on March 27, we're at the turning point where pre-launch ETBs will start going well above $100 upon release — making this the best time to grab the Perfect Order Elite Trainer Box for under $100.
Soon after, we predict the Perfect Order ETB will follow the market's usual trend (like other Pokémon ETBs on Amazon), going well above the $110 mark as availability starts to drop. Now is the best time to jump in before that happens.
The Perfect Order Elite Trainer Box includes nine Perfect Order booster packs, a full-art foil Tyrunt promo card, 65 sleeves, 40 Energy cards, a player’s guide, dice, a coin, a collector’s box, six dividers, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live.
Best Pokémon collection deal Opens in a new window Credit: The Pokemon Company Pokemon TCG: Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes $133.94 at AmazonWith Pokémon deals going fast, the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes is one of the best deals in the current Big Spring Sale — down to $133.94 from $159.99, saving you $26.05 on a premium poster box with a nice selection of booster packs. It's now only $14.44 above TCGplayer's market price value of $119.50.
This set includes 10 booster packs, a foil promo card of Mega Lucario ex, and a double-sided poster.
Best Pokémon preorder deal Opens in a new window Credit: The Pokémon Company Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Perfect Order Booster Display Box $247.99 at AmazonWith a new price cut of over $30, pre-ordering the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Perfect Order Booster Display Box (36 booster packs) for $247.99 means you're only paying roughly $6.88 per booster pack; that's almost $5 off compared to buying Perfect Order boosters individually.
So unlike an Elite Trainer Box, you are not getting sleeves, dice, or storage extras. This is more of a straight pack-heavy buy for collectors who want to open a full box at once or chase cards from the new Perfect Order expansion without paying for the added accessories.

We're in the middle of Amazon’s weeklong Big Spring Sale, and in the past few days, we've seen some of the best gaming deals of the year so far. And that's whether your console of choice is the PS5, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. Whether you’re shopping for a new handheld console, a discounted game, or an upgrade for your setup, Amazon (and Woot!) is showing out with impressive price cuts.
Alongside our roundups of Lego deals, TV deals, and Pokémon deals, here are the best gaming offers you can find on-site right now.
Best gaming console deal Opens in a new window Credit: ASUS ASUS ROG Xbox Ally $539.99 at AmazonHandheld gaming PCs are still far from cheap, but Amazon has already shaved something off one of the newer Xbox-branded options. The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally is down to $539.99 from $599.99, which knocks $60 off the list price, and beats the price we saw heading into the sale by $10.
This is a new record-low price for the ROG Xbox Ally (confirmed by price tracker camelcamelcamel), making it an especially great deal if you're in the market for a portable system that blends Xbox branding with the flexibility of a Windows handheld. You're getting a 7-inch 1080p 120Hz touchscreen, AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a three-month Xbox Game Pass Premium subscription bundled in.
This handheld model supports Xbox Game Pass, but you can also run games on Steam, Epic Games, and other Windows titles. That gives it a lot more versatility than a locked-down console-style device.
Best video game deal Opens in a new window Credit: Konami 'Silent Hill f' for PS5 $39.99 at WootSadly, our former top pick video game deal, Mario Kart World at its lowest price ever, sold out. That said, a video game deal for gamers on the opposite end of the spectrum is still available — Silent Hill f. The latest in Konami's Silent Hill franchise was released last fall, and to plenty of critical acclaim.
The reviewer at our sister site, PCMag (also owned by Ziff Davis), gave the horror survival game a 5/5 rating and the site's Editors' Choice Award. In his review, he wrote, "Silent Hill f is one of the best horror games I've played in years, and one of the best games of the year." If you've yet to pick it up, grabbing it for half off isn't a bad deal at all.

I'll let you in on a little secret about portable power stations — they're almost always on some type of discount. It's rare that I see any of my favorite models listed at full price, which is not a bad thing. But it makes it harder to discern a good deal from a meh deal. To help out, I've scrolled the pages of the Amazon Big Spring Sale to find the deals I think are actually worth buying.
A portable power station has become a must-have tech item. It's like your favorite noise-cancelling earbuds — no idea how we survived without them. They've been my savior during power outages to keep the refrigerator running, my phone charged up, and the WiFi router connected. They're also well worth packing along on upcoming camping trips. Think of movie nights under the stars with a powered-up portable projector and fresh popcorn.
The one snag here is that batteries aren't cheap, and that's especially true of high-tech and long-lasting batteries found in portable power stations. Because of this, I recommend shopping for a power station during major sales like the Amazon Big Spring Sale is a wise move. Here are some of my favorite models seeing steep discounts during the sale. I'll keep this page updated as the sale rolls in and we see new deals pop up.

It's also capable of recharging your phones and keeping the WiFi router on for an extended period of time. If you find that you routinely lose power, this unit is something you'll want to keep on hand to make sure you can charge things up when you need them.

After testing dozens of portable power stations, one of my go-to models for taking along on a weekend of camping is the Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2. Sure, you can go lighter and even more portable models, but I love the Solix C1000's combination of 1,024Wh, three USB-C ports, and the excellent Anker Solix app. It's also incredibly easy to carry around the campground, weighing under 25 pounds. Plus, Anker won a Guinness World Record for the power station's ability to recharge in just 49 minutes.

If you're looking to save on DJI products, now's the time to do so. It isn't just a drone company. DJI produces the viral DJI Mic Mini and a number of other content creation tools, including portable power stations, action cameras, and smartphone gimbals.
DJI has emerged as a Mashable reader and editor favorite, and our reporters use DJI products like the Mic Mini in our everyday work. You'll also see DJI products all over TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, where the company's products are popular with creators.
Please note: Due to the DJI drone ban and ongoing import problems, DJI products at Amazon are usually sold through third-party sellers. We recommend checking the seller's reviews and shopping accordingly (check the "Ships from" and "Sold by" information.)

This is the smartphone gimbal our tech editor personally uses and recommends for shooting social video at home and at events. DJI recently replaced the 7P with a new model, the DJI Osmo Mobile 8, which is also on sale. However, it's hard to argue with an under-$100 price tag. This handy gimbal lets you shoot steady video and track your face, and it pairs well with DJI wireless microphones.

It's easy to forget that DJI sells power stations, too. But the brand recently revamped its portable power lineup, and the upgraded DJI Power 1000 V2 is practically tailor-made for anyone shooting video. In her recent review, Mashable's Lauren Allain writes: "After testing the upgraded DJI Power 1000 V2, I'm convinced this is a great model for content creators, those who prioritize a super-quiet power station, or anyone looking for exceptional value in portable power."
It has a 1,024Wh capacity and features dedicated SDC ports that can super-fast-charge your DJI drone batteries, so you can get back in the air in about 30 minutes. Plus, when the station itself finally runs out of juice, you can plug it into a standard wall outlet and hit a full 100 percent charge in just 56 minutes.

As a shopping reporter, trust me when I say I understand better than most that Amazon's sale schedule can feel a little fatiguing. However, as a headphones reviewer, I also can't deny that this year's Big Spring Sale offers a great opportunity to upgrade your audio game on the cheap.
Having spent a few years testing headphones, and the last year covering the latest in noise-cancelling tech, open earbuds, and sleep earbuds, I went into this last week of March curious to see what the third iteration of Amazon's Big Spring Sale could bring. Sure, I'd seen the mega-retailer offer some solid tech deals in the two years prior, but the second day of this sale is proving that Amazon isn't playing with savings in headphones this year.
SEE ALSO: Amazon Big Spring Sale 2026: Live updates on the top dealsAlready, the newly announced Apple AirPods Max 2 are $19 off, even though they're still in their preorder phase. Sony's latest flagship headphones and earbuds are both marked down, and Shokz has plenty of deals for anyone looking for a new pair of workout earbuds. And as of March 27, Bose finally has some discounts too, on three of their popular models: the QuietComfort headphones, QuietComfort Ultra 2 headphones, and Ultra Open earbuds.
This sale is on for one week, from March 25 to March 31 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Anything is possible, but with most of the below deals, I don't imagine we'll see wild fluctuations in price. In other words, if you see a pair of headphones or earbuds you like, I recommend scooping them up.
My colleagues and I will be updating this post throughout the sale, so we'll let you know if anything new and major drops.
Best headphones deal Sony WH-1000XM6 $398 at AmazonSony's flagship headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM6, are still relatively new, all things considered, meaning that catching them on sale isn't always a given. Granted, even though their sale price of $398 does net you a nice $61.99 price cut, they're still expensive headphones. (If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, I recommend the Sony WH-CH720N). That said, if you're looking for the best of the best, these Sony headphones offer some of the best sound, noise cancellation, and all-day wear I've ever tried. Plus, unlike their predecessor, their ear cups actually fold. Grab them on sale in any of the available four colorways.
If the WH-1000XM6 are out of your price range, go for a more budget-friendly option. The JLab Lux are surprisingly great for a pair of headphones under $100, and right now you can get them for just $41.99.

As much as I love a good pair of premium earbuds, I'm less in love with the idea of paying over $200 for quality ANC and sound when you can get that for much, much cheaper. For day-to-day use, I often find myself reaching for the Sony WF-C710N earbuds. They have great battery life, a compact case for easy portability, really solid ANC, and a rounded sound profile worthy of the Sony name. Bracetti called them the best Sony earbuds you can get for under $100 (when they're on sale), and I'm comfortable saying they're some of the best earbuds under $100, period.

People love the Bose Ultra Open earbuds, but the Sony LinkBuds Clip are just as comfortable, sound at least as good, and at their full price, cost about $70 cheaper than the Bose buds. I have testing samples of both on my desk, and I find myself reaching for the Sony buds more.
On sale, they're over $100 cheaper than the Bose Ultra earbuds. Mashable contributor Simon Cohen deemed these earbuds a Mashable Selects winner, which means they're a favorite of the Mashable team. This sale price of $198 marks their biggest discount ever, and the first time they've ever gone below $200. For earbuds that just launched in January, that's not too shabby.
