My favorite Kindle case, the one that goes on my very own Kindle, is the PopSockets MagSafe case. It's lightweight but protective, so I know my Kindle Paperwhite is protected wherever I take it on the road. Sleep is tricky. We all know we need it, but there are 803 other things we should be doing, and when we do have time to sleep, there tend to be interruptions. The next social media ban? Austria looks to block kids under 14 from social media

Less than 4 months ago, Australia banned social media for kids under 16, sparking a wave of similar proposals from governments around the world. The latest effort to ban social media for children now comes from Austria. In a press release, the Austrian government announced that a bill will be introduced by the end of June to ban social media use for children under 14.

According to the press release, a mandatory minimum age of 14 for social media would only be one part of the bill seeking to address child safety online. The bill would also introduce media literacy in schools to help young people "recognize disinformation and radicalization."

The Austrian government said these measures would be taken in order to address the issues children have faced as a result of social media, such as cyberbullying, addiction, and mental health problems.

While the press release doesn't provide many details, it does mention that any bill introduced would address data privacy concerns related to age verification methods, ensuring that users' information is protected.

Many social media platforms have policies requiring users to be a certain age to join. However, these rules are implemented by companies themselves, with little to no incentive to uphold them. At the government level, however, as in Australia's first such bill, these bills slap social media companies with hefty fines for allowing users under age to join their platforms. The U.S. may be joining soon, as a bipartisan group of Senators proposed a bill earlier this year that would ban social media for children under 13.

The U.S. also recently saw social media companies like Meta and YouTube lose two separate trials regarding social platforms harming young people's mental health. It will be interesting to see how U.S. lawmakers go forward with their age limit proposals following those verdicts.

Released in August 2025, the Pips puts a unique spin on dominoes, creating a fun single-player experience that could become your next daily gaming habit.

Currently, if you're stuck, the game only offers to reveal the entire puzzle, forcing you to move onto the next difficulty level and start over. However, we have you covered! Below are piecemeal answers that will serve as hints so that you can find your way through each difficulty level.

How to play Pips

If you've ever played dominoes, you'll have a passing familiarity for how Pips is played. As we've shared in our previous hints stories for Pips, the tiles, like dominoes, are placed vertically or horizontally and connect with each other. The main difference between a traditional game of dominoes and Pips is the color-coded conditions you have to address. The touching tiles don't necessarily have to match.

The conditions you have to meet are specific to the color-coded spaces. For example, if it provides a single number, every side of a tile in that space must add up to the number provided. It is possible – and common – for only half a tile to be within a color-coded space.

Here are common examples you'll run into across the difficulty levels:

  • Number: All the pips in this space must add up to the number.

  • Equal: Every domino half in this space must be the same number of pips.

  • Not Equal: Every domino half in this space must have a completely different number of pips.

  • Less than: Every domino half in this space must add up to less than the number.

  • Greater than: Every domino half in this space must add up to more than the number.

If an area does not have any color coding, it means there are no conditions on the portions of dominoes within those spaces.

My beloved air fryer is down to a new best price ever during Amazons Spring Sale

My air fryer bit the bullet at the end of 2025, which led me on the surprisingly overwhelming journey of choosing a new one. The market is overflowing with options, but I had a few priorities in mind on my search: non-toxic materials, a compact build that won't waste counter space, and an aesthetically pleasing design that matches my colorful kitchen. One of the only air fryers that checked all the boxes was the Our Place Wonder Oven.

I received the Wonder Oven as a gift, but honestly, it's one of the few appliances I'd gladly spend my own money on. Especially now that it's dropped to a new record-low price during the Big Spring Sale. It typically retails for $185, but you can pick it up in any color for just $129. That's a total steal for an air fryer that can also toast, reheat, roast, bake, and broil.

The Wonder Oven comes with three different trays you can swap out depending on what you're cooking — a chromed steel air fryer basket and wire rack, and an aluminum bake pan with non-toxic ceramic coating. There's also a chromed steel crumb tray to slide in at the bottom to keep the oven from getting too messy. You can also easily slip all three inside for storage when you're not using the oven.

It takes up just a sliver of counter space compared to other air fryers, yet it can fit a whole chicken up to 4.5 pounds. I was honestly concerned with how tiny it is when I opened it for the first time, but it's actually a perfect size to feed two people.

Did I mention this air fryer oven is actually cute? Its retro-inspired design features manual knobs instead of digital controls. So it doesn't just look like a hunk of tech on my counter; it looks like a tiny oven from the '70s.

With Amazon's Big Spring Sale running through March 31, you still have a few days to snag the Our Place Wonder Oven for its best price ever. If you're in the market for an air fryer, I urge you to consider this one.

NYT Connections Sports Edition today: Hints and answers for March 29, 2026

As we've shared in previous hints stories, this is a version of the popular New York Times word game that seeks to test the knowledge of sports fans.

Like the original Connections, the game is all about finding the "common threads between words." And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words gets trickier and trickier — so we've served up some hints and tips to get you over the hurdle.

The NYT's latest daily word game has launched in association with The Athletic, the New York Times property that provides the publication's sports coverage. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise of anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake — players get up to four mistakes until the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.

Most of the year's major flagship TVs announced in January are typically out by the end of March, cueing retailers to push deals on last year's TVs even harder. March was further established as one of the best months to buy a TV when Amazon started holding a massive annual spring sale. The 2026 Big Spring Sale runs from March 25 through 31, and a ton of Amazon TV deals are proving that the annual price drop cycle is real.

It's not just Amazon's in-house Fire TVs that see big discounts during the Big Spring Sale (Amazon Fire TVs are hardly the best TVs you can get for the money right now). I've been tracking new TV releases and comparing TV specs at Mashable for years, and I consistently find that the most worthwhile Amazon TV deals are from solid budget brands like TCL and Hisense, with a few sizes of Samsung's The Frame occasionally thrown in.

Pro tip: Best Buy tends to have way more options for deals on flagship Samsung and LG TVs. For instance, Samsung just released its 2026 Neo QLED TVs on March 24 — Best Buy's stock of on-sale 2025 versions of those TVs, like the QN70F and QN80F, has been much more stable than Amazon's this week. Amazon barely has any recent LG TVs in stock at all, while Best Buy has countless 2024 and 2025 QNED and OLED models on sale.

At any rate, I'm tracking the best sales on TVs at Amazon throughout the end of the Big Spring Sale on March 31, with the rolling list updated as prices change. One TV that's actually beating its previous record-low sale price is the 2025 75-inch Hisense U7. Currently 31% off, it's $103 cheaper than it was just a month ago during Presidents' Day sales.

The 2026 version of the same TV was just unveiled on March 6, so a new price drop on the predecessor model certainly tracks. The 2026 75-inch U7 will cost $1,999.99 — more than $1,000 steeper than the 2025 model's $897.96 sale price. Those are the kind of steals I was talking about. The 65-inch model is also at a new record-low $697.96 if 75 inches is a bit larger than you'd like.

This mini LED model packs a serious punch for the price. Its brightness in SDR and HDR gets consistently great notes across the internet, with glare handling strong enough for most sunlit rooms. You don't always see a 165 Hz refresh rate in budget to mid-range TVs, so the Hisense U7 is a top contender for an XL gaming TV under $1,000.

I have seven robot vacuums in my apartment right at this moment, and those are all just models that have come out in 2026. Perhaps that gives you an idea of how many robot vacuums I test at home on a yearly basis — and why I'm always super confident in telling readers which robot vacuum deals are worth it during any Amazon sale event.

So, I'm back with an updated list of robot vacuum recommendations for Amazon's 2026 Big Spring Sale, which is live now through March 31. While I'm stoked that the most powerful robot vacuums of the year are actually seeing decent discounts, they still cost more than $1,000 on sale. So the more realistic route for my "best robot vacuum deal overall" pick is the Eufy C28, now under $500 (compared to its usual $799). It's still a 2026 premium robot vacuum and mop combo that rocked during my testing, and it's likely the most affordable mainstream roller mop robot vacuum you'll find this season.

If you're jaded from a bad mopping robot vacuum experience in the past, it's probably because it smeared dirty water more than it scrubbed. I think that this Eufy's self-rinsing roller mop will change your mind. Its fluffy material is already more absorbent than the typical thin mopping pad — but just to ensure liquid spills aren't being smeared around, the C28's roller gets rinsed with clean water multiple times per second. Its self-emptying dock also washes and dries the mop after each cleaning.

In search of a cheap robot vacuum that doesn't suck? The $149.99 Shark Ion robot vacuum that probably popped up first at Amazon is far from the best robot vacuum under $200 during this sale. Instead, I'd point you to a more niche budget pick that wowed me during testing. Last year, I said that the 3i G10+ was "the most impressive robot vacuum under $500" (and that you've probably never heard of it). Now, it's on sale for a record-low $199.99.

The G10+ uses a unique dust compression system to keep you off dustbin emptying duty for 60 days, but without requiring space for a traditional self-empty dock. This means that the G10+ can live under relatively low-clearance furniture like a couch or TV stand. In this price range, I was blown away by its small obstacle avoidance capabilities and livestream pet camera. The Shark Ion doesn't even have smart mapping for cleaning specific rooms on command.

If you don't want to shell out that extra $50, you can spend the same $149.99 on the Roborock Q7 M5. That still secures mopping, room or zone cleaning through LiDAR smart mapping, and 10,000 Pa of suction power, beating the Shark Ion by a long shot.

If you’ve been eyeing an iPad, we've spotted discounts of up to $290 across Apple's tablet lineup. As always with these major sale events, we've been on the case since day one, helping you find the very best deals across all kinds of products. And we've spotted some awesome deals on Apple AirPods — deals that sound as good as Apple audio tech.

For Apple users, these sale events are always super exciting — it's a rare chance to snag a device for significantly less. Indeed, we're seeing discounts on everything from MacBooks to AirPods. So, if you've been hoping to get your hands on a brand-new smartwatch but refuse to pay full price, several Apple Watch models are on sale right now, with savings of up to $300.

While Apple's Series 11 and SE 3 are getting attention for being the newest models, a few last-generation models deserve a spotlight during this Big Spring Sale. Amazon's third annual Big Spring Sale is live through March 31. The event mainly revolves around seasonal essentials like cleaning supplies and outdoor gear, but it's also hosting some very attractive deals on must-have tech — including flagship Apple products like MacBooks. As Mashable's resident laptop expert, I'm on the case.

Apple actually just refreshed its MacBook lineup earlier this month, announcing updated MacBook Airs and Pros in addition to an all-new budget MacBook Neo. Most configurations of these new releases are seeing their very first (tiny) discounts during the Big Spring Sale, while their predecessors are priced to move at up to $300 off.

Keep in mind that Apple has discontinued its last-gen MacBooks, which means they'll only be available on the refurbished market once third-party retailers' inventories dry up. If you see a good deal on an M4 MacBook Air or Pro on Amazon this week, don't wait too long to add it to your cart. A few configurations are starting to go in and out of stock, and I think they'll sell out long before this summer's Prime Day sale.

The M4 MacBook Air may be a last-gen laptop, but it's still an incredibly capable ultraportable. (In our testing, it proved much faster than much pricier Windows laptops.) It has the same 12MP Center Stage webcam, Liquid Retina display, and 18-hour battery life as its new M5 counterpart, which just offers slightly faster performance and newer wireless connectivity. This 15-inch configuration with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage has never been cheaper.

This colorful little laptop has the same premium aluminum build as any other MacBook, and it boasts incredibly impressive single-core performance; in basic everyday tasks like web browsing, it's just as fast as an M4 MacBook Air. This particular model comes with Touch ID.

I recommend it as an upgrade pick for power users like content creators and developers. This current-gen M5 model is well future-proofed with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It's only $50 away from its record-low price from December.

Another configuration with an older, but more powerful M4 Pro chip is still in stock at the same price, though it comes with half the storage.

Amazon's Big Spring Sale is back for its third consecutive year, with deals running across the site through March 31. The retailer began rolling out wide-ranging discounts earlier this week, with more to come as prices drop on such items as robot vacuums, TVs, and your daily essentials. And if there's one thing we can always guarantee, it's that this sale features a raft of much-welcome Apple deals.

Apple has kept us very busy so far in 2026. We've been hard at work testing the first-ever budget Neo MacBook, as well as the upgraded MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros, a new iPad Air, and the iPhone 17e. Next on our Apple to-do list: the upcoming AirPods Max 2.

With so many new Apple products, we're seeing a bunch of first-time discounts during the Amazon Spring Sale, as well as new record-low prices on last-gen models like the Apple Watch SE 2 and M4 MacBook Air. What more could you want from a major sale event? Just keep in mind that many of the older models are selling out fast at Amazon. If the model you want is no longer available, be sure to check the stock at Best Buy and Walmart. These retailers are matching many of the best Spring Sale deals.

We've always been fans of the AirPods Pro, but the third generation really takes them to new heights. Mashable's reviewer called them, "without a doubt, one of the best products of the year" in 2025.

The latest premium buds feature outstanding noise cancellation (twice as good as the Pro 2), a solid eight hours of battery life with ANC on, and new foam-infused tips that come in five sizes to find the perfect fit. Apple also brought the heart rate monitoring tech from the Powerbeats Pro 2 (our favorite earbuds for working out) and Fitness app compatibility to the new AirPods Pro 3, and introduced a live translation feature.

While we've seen the buds drop as low as $184 in the past, this Amazon spring sale discount is still worth grabbing.

This four-pack of Apple's Bluetooth trackers keeps going in and out of stock on Amazon, which is hardly surprising: It's never been cheaper there. Walmart and Best Buy are both offering the same deal; if you can't find it in stock on Amazon, be sure to check there.

"It delivers iterative updates that improve an already stellar tablet," he writes in his review.

Apple released its new MacBook Air with the M5 chip this month, but honestly, they're not a whole lot different than the M4 Airs. The main differences are the upgraded processor and a new wireless chip. You can save some money by grabbing the M4 model with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage, which is currently down to just $949 at Best Buy. Amazon had the same deal at the start of the Big Spring Sale, but it's since gone out of stock multiple times and jumped up to $999.

The Apple Watch Series 11 offers significant battery improvements over its predecessor. For that reason alone, it's worth the upgrade. It also features a tougher build with durable glass that's twice as resistant to scratches, 5G capability for quicker connectivity, and a Sleep Score and hypertension tool that can flag chronic high blood pressure. It's not a major upgrade (is anything in 2026?), but as Mashable's reviewer put it: "Buy it for the battery life." Now $100 cheaper, it's an even better value.
