After this year, I am dying for a sale on e-readers, and luckily, Prime Big Deal Days is delivering. Right now, you can shop all of the 2024 Kindle models at a discount.

RAMaggedon wreaked havoc on tech prices this year, and that includes Kindles. In August, we saw huge price increases on Amazon's e-readers, with prices on Kindles going up about $50. So, what does this mean for this year's October Prime Day Kindle deals?

Let's start with the good news: All of the 2024 models are on sale, rolling back the recent price hikes. The bad news: Because of those price increases, few of Amazon's e-readers are at all-time low prices.

Don't forget: Amazon just dropped an all-new collection of Kindles, but none of the 2026 models are on sale, nor do we expect them to be. So if you don't mind buying the 2024 Kindle models (which we loved and still recommend), there are plenty of Prime Day deals on Kindles to shop. Just be sure to add these e-readers to your shopping cart before Prime Big Deal Days ends tomorrow.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is my top pick for October Prime Day shoppers. In August 2026, the e-reader's MSRP rose to $249.99 from its previous list price of $199.99. Now, the Paperwhite Signature Edition has dropped back down to $169.99. That's 32% off its new list price, saving you $80 on the e-reader. I'd typically advise you to buy the standard Paperwhite, but right now, it's more expensive than the Signature Edition.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is my favorite e-reader, the one I use every day. With 32GB of storage, it has space for thousands of books. It also has an auto-adjusting front light and wireless charging capabilities. It's exceptionally fast, too, as it never stutters when opening books or turning pages.

If you want to save $20, you could go for the standard Paperwhite, but right now, the Signature Edition is the better savings.

Plus, when you buy a new Kindle, make sure to include three months of Kindle Unlimited in your purchase because it's totally free (a $35.97 value).

There's still a lot to love about Amazon's basic Kindle e-reader. It's a great starter e-reader if you're new to the category, and it has the same famous E Ink display that makes Kindles so popular. It may not have as much storage as the Paperwhite or Paperwhite Signature Edition (it also lacks waterproofing), but you can still hold a whole library's worth of books.

The 6-inch screen is still large enough to enjoy your favorite reads, and it's a lightweight and thin e-reader that's easy to take on the go.

During Black Friday 2025, the 2024 Kindles dropped to their lowest prices ever. That brought the Kindle to $79.99 and the Kindle Paperwhite to $124.99. But this was before Amazon raised prices on Kindles in August 2026.

The current Kindle Prime Day prices fall somewhere in between previous all-time lows and the device's current prices. However, two Kindles are notably not on sale. The 2024 Kindle Paperwhite is finally on sale for $149.99, which is just $10 lower than its pre-price hike list price.

The basic Kindle is $103.99, which makes it cheaper than its previous list price ($109.99) but $24 more than its all-time low of $79.99. Kindle Scribe e-readers, however, are on sale for their lowest prices ever, with the Scribe dipping back down to $379.99 and the Scribe Colorsoft dropping to $479.99.

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale features lots of amazing tech deals (duh). But it's an especially good time to be shopping for a new TV, as 2026 models have been on the market long enough to see hefty discounts. Sure, you could wait a few weeks until Black Friday to see if they get even cheaper, but if you're tired of watching football games on an old TV, then take advantage of the top Prime Day deals on TVs now.

On the first day of Prime Big Deal Days, which is live through midnight on Oct. 7, we've spotted best-ever pricing on some of our favorite 2026 OLED and QLED TVs. Amazon Ember TVs have particularly steep discounts, which is great news if you're on a budget this season. And if you're willing to invest in a flagship model, then you can save $1,200 on the award-winning Samsung S90H OLED TV.

Amazon’s October Prime Day sale kicked off today, Oct. 6, and we’ve found Apple Watch deals worth a look. The new Apple Watch Series 12 is down to $349.99 (normally $399), while the budget-friendly Apple Watch SE 3 is back at $199 (normally $249). And over at Target, the previous-generation Series 11 is $259.99.

Amazon isn’t the only place to find an Apple Watch deal today. Target has the Apple Watch Series 11 for $259.99 with Target Circle (which is free to join). Unless you’re set on Apple’s newest watch, this one deserves a look.

The biggest reason we like it? Battery life. In Mashable’s Apple Watch Series 11 review, Senior Editor Stan Schroeder found that it easily lasted a day and a half on a charge. In one test, he wore it overnight and still had 38 percent battery remaining after 24 hours. That’s useful breathing room if you want to track your sleep without squeezing in a charge before bed.

Schroeder also praised its comfortable fit and bright, vibrant display. The Series 11 wasn’t a dramatic reinvention of the Series 10, but the longer battery life made a real difference in his testing. At $259.99, that’s a much easier upgrade to consider than at full price.

Genuinely good MacBook deals have been harder to come by in the wake of Apple's summer price hikes. Thanks to Prime Big Deal Days, that's finally changing.

Live now through Oct. 7, Amazon's 48-hour fall savings event for Prime members serves as its unofficial kickoff to the holiday shopping season. (It's often referred to as "October Prime Day.") The first day of the sale has already ushered in sizable MacBooks discounts, the likes of which we haven't seen in months. Of special note is a $200 discount on the M5 MacBook Air that completely erases its price increase; this week marks the first time shoppers have been able to buy it for as low as $1,099 since June.

How I picked the best October Prime Day MacBook deals

The Mashable team has reviewed every current MacBook and monitors their prices continuously throughout the year. The deals I'm personally recommending here involve the lowest prices on select models in at least three months, which I vetted using the Amazon price-tracking tool camelcamelcamel and our past coverage of MacBook deals. Things are looking a bit better than usual so far: MacBook Pro deals maxed out at $400 off last Prime Big Deal Days, but right now, select models are up to $600 off.

If you're willing to wait, I think some MacBook Pros could get even cheaper as Prime Big Deal Days rolls on. I've marked them as "MacBook deals to watch" for the time being. That's also the section where I've plopped the best live deals on the budget MacBook Neo, which is only $10 off on Amazon right now. (That's its biggest discount outside of the Apple Store's education pricing, but I'd like to see if Amazon gives us $25 to $50 off at some point. Hang tight, people!)

Finally, I'm keeping an eye on other retailers' MacBook deals this week to see if any of them manage to beat Amazon's prices. None of them have yet, though Best Buy was matching some of its offers at the time of writing. Check there if the configuration you want happens to sell out during Prime Big Deal Days.

The latest MacBook Air is a Mashable Choice Award winner and one of our top-reviewed products of the year. In his testing, Mashable tech editor Timothy Beck Werth found the M5 chip to be ridiculously powerful (probably more powerful than the average person really needs, TBH). It also has a fantastic display, a great-sounding speaker system, and a sharp Center Stage webcam.

The 13- and 15-inch sizes of the MacBook Air are both now $200 off on Amazon, starting at just $1,099 and $1,299, respectively. Best Buy was matching those deals the last time I checked.

The M5 Pro chip is one of Apple's upgraded laptop CPUs. It's designed to handle the ultra-demanding workloads of "pro users — like data modelers, post-production sound designers, and STEM students — who require robust processing power and graphics," according to a company press release.

Right now, you can save $500 on a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro chip that has 18 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores, plus 24GB of RAM and a healthy 2TB of storage. This laptop typically retails for $3,199, but you'll pay $2,699 — a 16% savings. Best Buy is also price-matching Amazon here.

As mentioned up top, Amazon's October Prime Day MacBook Pro deals usually max out at $400ish. With that in mind, this is one deal that probably won't improve within the next two days. I also want to point out that it costs the same as a 14-inch MacBook Pro with the same amount of RAM and storage, but a lesser M5 Pro chip with 15 CPU cores and 16 GPU cores. If you're splurging on a new laptop for AI or creative work, this is more of a bargain.

You can't go wrong with a portable power station, especially as we head into colder, stormier months.

They're great for camping or road trips, keeping your gadgets running when you're away from a plug socket. Portable power stations come in all shapes, sizes, and price points, with some costing well into the thousands. It's not exactly an everyday purchase, so when sales events like October Prime Day roll around, it's a great excuse to finally invest in one.

Kicking off today, Prime Day runs Oct. 6-7. There are discounts on seriously powerful models that can serve as a perfect backup power source for your refrigerator, as well as smaller models that will keep your personal devices charged and online. It can also go from empty to fully charged in an hour with emergency charging switched on, and the LFP battery is designed to retain more than 70% of its capacity after 4,000 charge cycles. Plus, it weighs under 24 pounds, so it's easy to carry around the house or the campground.

Fall has just begun, but the holiday shopping season is already heating up. No longer do things kick off on Black Friday: Amazon's annual Prime Big Deal Days on Oct. 6 and 7 is the start of end-of-year deals.

October Prime Day is officially here, and we're looking for the best price drops across top brands, especially Apple. Early deals were pretty hit-or-miss with baseline models seeing modest $20 to $30 markdowns. But now that we've arrived at the main event, there are actually some deals worth shopping.

We've rounded up the best October Prime Day iPad deals we could find. While none of the iPads here have dropped to new all-time lows, we're happy to take any savings, given that Apple raised iPad prices earlier this year. But if you want to see where current iPad prices fall, we've compiled the price history on current models.

Save up to $50 on the regular iPad

The standard iPad with the A16 chip is our favorite Apple tablet for budget shoppers. "Even though its tech is basic compared to the advanced iPad Air and Pro," writes Mashable's Samantha Mangino, "it's great for someone who wants a portable screen for streaming, playing games, and reading." It's rated for up to six hours of battery life.

The base iPad with 128GB of storage is now $50 off with or without cellular connectivity. That brings it down to $399, its lowest price since Amazon increased it to $449 earlier this year.

In his 4.5-star review, Mashable’s Timothy Beck Werth called the M4 iPad Air "a tablet that thinks it's an AI laptop," making it a great pick for students, artists, and creators. It has the same super-light aluminum body and bright Liquid Retina screen as last year's model.

Where it wins is speed: the new M4 processor and upgraded smart chip make AI tools like fast voice-note transcription and photo editing happen almost instantly. While Timothy pointed out that it only offers "iterative upgrades over last year's model" and can feel "overpowered for casual users", that is exactly why this price drop makes sense.

Paying full retail for an incremental spec bump can be a hard sell, but catching it on sale makes the extra speed, 256GB of storage, and creator-grade power completely worth the tag. Luckily, it's now $100 off, bringing it down to $649.

If you're a professional creative in the market for an iPad, consider buying an iPad Pro. Wallets at the ready, folks: October Prime Day has officially dropped.

The sale, also dubbed Prime Big Deal Days, is the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season — a chance to stock up on marked-down tech with deals on items such as AirPods.

The sale runs Oct. 6-7, and our team is tracking all the best AirPods deals. So far, we haven't seen any price drops on the newly announced AirPods 5 (more on that below), but we have seen some other competitive price drops — including an all-time low match on 1st-Gen Pros. As someone who tests and writes about headphones and earbuds year-round, I get why Apple users are willing to invest in AirPods. As a deals expert, I also much prefer to see folks grab AirPods on sale.

Yes, they run on Apple's older H1 chip rather than current-gen silicon, but at under $90, you're getting active noise cancellation and silicone ear tips for just $10 more than the non-ANC AirPods 4. If you want proper noise cancellation without spending $179 on the Pro 3, this is easily the best value on the board — just keep in mind stock on discontinued generations usually disappears fast during Prime Day.

  • The AirPods 5 have only received one small deal — a $4 price drop — so far since their release on Sept. 18. Granted, they're still very new to the market, so even that price dip is notable. We're hoping that as we get further into holiday deal season, a slightly more substantial deal comes along.

  • The AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case haven't dropped in price just yet, so we're not holding our breath that they will, especially since they're still brand new. That said, October Prime Day is a very appropriate time for a surprise deal, so the chance that we see even a small dip isn't zero. At the very least, grabbing them at full price is still likely a better deal than grabbing the AirPods 4 with ANC on sale (more on that below).

  • Amazon likes to drop the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation to $149 (down from $179), which might look like a good deal at first glance. But there's a catch. Their newer analog, the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case, has a standard list price of $149 and comes with an improved feature set, including better active noise cancellation and sound quality, with the same battery life. In other words, paying $149 for the older model doesn't make sense — the AirPods 4 with ANC would have to be priced well below that (like the Best Buy deal we mentioned above) for it to be a deal worth picking up.

Prime Big Deal Days sale is finally here — and so are some shockingly excellent Apple deals. This 48-hour "October Prime Day" serves as Amazon's kickoff to the Black Friday holiday shopping season, which is the best time to find discounts on popular Apple devices (among many other tech products we love). This year, it doubles as some much-needed relief from RAMageddon price increases.

For the first day of the sale, Amazon has rolled out some great deals on AirPods, Apple Watches, iPads, and MacBooks. Some of them are even better than we expected: The new Apple Watch Series 12 just got its first real discount, and the M5 MacBook Air is now $200 off — a discount that nullifies its summer price hike. The 13-inch model now starts at $1,099 for the first time since June.

In the biggest surprise of October Prime Day so far, Amazon revived the original AirPods Pro from 2019 at the ridiculously low price of $89.99 first thing this morning (a 64% savings). That deal has since sold out, but might return in the next 24 hours or so. We're updating this story with any new October Prime Day Apple deals as we find them, so keep checking back.

How we picked the best October Prime Day Apple deals

Mashable tracks Apple prices year-round and has covered Prime Big Deal Days since it started in 2022 (back when it was still called the Prime Early Access Sale). We've reviewed every current Apple device except for the Apple Watch Series 12, which shares all of its new features with the Apple Watch Ultra 4; and the latest Mac desktops, which our sister site PCMag has already tested extensively.

To identify the very best October Prime Day Apple deals, we've compared Amazon's current prices with historical pricing data on camelcamelcamel, a popular price-tracking site, as well as our coverage of past Amazon Prime events. Most of the devices we've featured here are sitting at their lowest prices in three months. (iPads were cheaper in July, but to be fair, they were also impacted by price hikes along with MacBooks.)

I've cross-checked all of Amazon's live Apple deals with other major retailers' sales to make sure no one else has even lower prices. Right now, the only devices I would buy elsewhere are the AirPods 4 with and without ANC: They're sold out on Amazon, but Best Buy and Walmart, respectively, still have them in stock at three-month lows. Stay tuned to see if Amazon brings them back at the same prices as Prime Big Deal Days continues.

Compared to the last-gen Series 11, the Series 12 has a faster processor, better heart rate sensors, quicker charging, and more durable glass. It also adds support for features like Readiness and Audio Intelligence tools like Siri Recap. Only Target was matching Amazon's prices at the time of writing.

$79 AirPods (a Prime Day classic)

The $79 AirPods 4 are the budget pick for iPhone users who prefer earbuds without silicone tips. They offer up to five hours of listening per charge, plus H2-powered features including Personalized Spatial Audio and Voice Isolation for calls.

One important distinction: this deal is for the version without active noise cancellation. In our AirPods 4 review, we tested the ANC model, but it's still relevant in terms of functionality. For example, the review offers useful context on the shared design: the earbuds stayed secure through flights and a treadmill run, although our reviewer experienced some discomfort after roughly eight hours of wear.

The AirPods 4 reached $69 last Black Friday, so $79 isn’t their all-time low. It's their lowest price so far in 2026 — and a reasonable buy if you want Apple’s entry-level earbuds without paying extra for noise cancellation.

The 2024 Kindle is on sale for $103.99, a 31% discount, with an option to bundle three months of Kindle Unlimited for free. It’s the pick for readers who want a small, lightweight e-reader rather than every feature in the Kindle lineup.

In Mashable’s review, Lead Shopping Reporter Samantha Mangino found that the six-inch Kindle fit easily into a small crossbody bag, turned pages quickly, and displayed crisp, high-contrast text. Its 16GB of storage gives you room for thousands of books without stepping up to a more expensive model.

The trade-offs matter: this Kindle isn’t waterproof and doesn’t have the Paperwhite’s adjustable warm light. Amazon also rates its battery life at up to six weeks, compared with up to 12 weeks for the 2024 Paperwhite models. Choose the basic Kindle for portability and price; consider a Paperwhite if you read in the bath or want more control over nighttime lighting.

We've been waiting for good deals on Apple MacBooks, and Amazon has finally delivered, with both the MacBook Air and Pro on sale.

If you're a professional creative, developer, or AI enthusiast who needs a compact new laptop for work, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better option than the 14-inch, M5 Max-powered MacBook Pro. The "base" configuration with 36GB of RAM and 2TB of storage got a $500 price increase back in June, which bumped it from $3,599 to $4,099. But right now, Amazon has it on sale for just $3,499 — a $600 savings.

If you don't need the powerful MacBook Pro's features or the price tag, you can go with the M5 MacBook Air while it's on sale for $1,099, or $200 off the normal price. The 65-inch TCL QM8L is the best QLED TV for most people, according to Leah Stodart, our former TV expert. Prime Big Deal Days is a 48-hour sale that Amazon has put on every year since 2022 in early October, about a month and a half before Black Friday. (Fun fact: It was originally called the Prime Early Access Sale.) It's often referred to as "October Prime Day" because its deals are exclusively for Amazon Prime members, just like the retailer's flagship Prime Day sale.

Prime Big Deal Days serves as Amazon's unofficial kickoff to the holiday shopping season.

When does Prime Big Deal Days start?

Prime Big Deal Days 2026 will officially begin at 3:01 a.m. ET (12:01 a.m. PT) on Tuesday, Oct. 6. It will end at 2:59 a.m ET on Wednesday, Oct. 8 (11:59 p.m. PT on Oct. 7).

How is Prime Big Deal Days different from Prime Day?

Prime Big Deal Days is a two-day event in the fall, while Prime Day is a four-day event in the summer. (It's usually in July, but Amazon moved it up to June this year because of the timing of the FIFA World Cup and the U.S. 250th anniversary, a company exec told Reuters.)

You don't need to wait until Oct. 6 to start filling your cart. Prime members can score the following deals on Amazon devices and services in the lead-up to Prime Big Deal Days:

All shoppers can get three months' worth of Kindle Unlimited for free ahead of Prime Big Deal Days, regardless of their Prime status.

My fellow Mashable reporters and I are also tracking early October Prime Day deals on popular tech gadgets, including Apple devices, headphones, speakers, TVs, laptops, robot vacuums, smartwatches, power stations, and SSDs. Many of those products are on sale already, but keep in mind that their prices will likely drop further once Prime Big Deal Days starts.

What deals will be available during Prime Big Deal Days 2026?

Prime Big Deal Days will feature "millions of deals across fashion, electronics, beauty, toys, and more," according to a company blog post. Some of them will be special, limited-time offers called "Today's Big Deals" that involve discounts of "up to 50% or more" on "trending products and new releases," the retailer said (think $2,000 off a big-screen Sony TV, it added). Today's Big Deals will drop daily at 3 a.m., 11 a.m., and 4 p.m. ET during the sale, so keep a lookout. They're only available while supplies last.

Black Friday generally features better deals than October Prime Day. There are several reasons for this:

  1. Basically every retailer runs a Black Friday sale, so there's a wider selection of deals available; the festivities aren't limited to Amazon and its immediate competitors (more on them momentarily).

  2. Black Friday deals are open to everyone, not just Prime members.

  3. Retailers really want to clear their shelves of old inventory ahead of the new year, so they're inclined to offer record-low prices during Black Friday.

That said, there is a lot of overlap between October Prime Day and Black Friday deals, especially when it comes to Amazon devices. (Most of the Echo, Kindle, and Fire TV deals we'll see during Prime Big Deal Days will probably pop back up in November.) You should definitely still check out Prime Big Deal Days if:

  1. You're a Prime member who wants to maximize the benefits of your subscription.

  2. You want to avoid the chaos of Black Friday and get your holiday shopping over with.

  3. You're worried about an item on your wishlist selling out before the holidays.

  4. You need an item sooner than late November or early December for gifting purposes.

Will any retailers be competing with Prime Big Deal Days?

Target and Walmart are both planning to run their own sales alongside Prime Big Deal Days. (Target's Circle Deal Days is also set for Oct. 6 and 7, while Walmart's Fall Deals event runs for a whole week from Oct. 5 to 11.) Best Buy previously said that its "[holiday] Savings start in October," but it hasn't confirmed anything yet.

Prime Day technically only happens once a year in mid-summer, but Amazon puts on two other Prime-exclusive events throughout the year that function similarly. One is Prime Big Deal Days in early October; the other is the Big Spring Sale in late March.

Do you need to be a Prime member to shop Prime Big Deal Days?

Amazon's October Prime Day deals are reserved for members of its Prime program, but you don't need to pay for a subscription to participate. Shoppers who haven't had an active Prime membership within the past 12 months can score a free 30-day trial. Just remember to cancel your membership before your trial period ends, or else you'll get charged. (Prime normally costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually.)

If you're between the ages of 18 and 24 or a college student, you're eligible for a free six-month trial via Amazon's Prime for Young Adults program. At the end of your trial period, you can upgrade to a paid membership for 50% off the usual rate.

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale event has officially begun. For 48 hours, Prime members can browse a variety of discounts ahead of the holiday sale season, including on a selection of Lego sets.

We've already spotted a ton of builds worth a look. The Project Hail Mary set has received its first major discount as part of the sale. There's also the Lego build of Hokusai’s The Great Wave, which has dropped to its lowest-ever price for members.

This price cut on the Lego Icons Project Hail Mary set is an awesome surprise for the Prime Big Deal Days sale. It marks the first discount it has ever received at the retailer, dropping down to $69.99 from its original price of $99.99 exclusively for Prime members. If you adored the movie (or are even just a huge fan of the book), it's a build that's absolutely worth grabbing. I speak from personal experience.

I pieced together this set, which is recommended for adults, and it's one of my favorites up on my shelf. With 830 pieces, you'll construct a microscale replica of the Hail Mary ship, which is docked on a display stand, but that's not even the best part about it. There's a crank on the stand that allows you to simulate the ship's centrifugal gravity system when you turn it, which is my favorite element. Of course, it also comes with a minifigure of Ryland and a little Rocky figure that you can set up next to it, which is the perfect finishing touch.
