Just three months after introducing the Xiaomi 17 series of phones, Xiaomi is back with the Xiaomi 17T Pro. The company has had a somewhat odd release schedule for its smartphones lately, often cramming launches into short periods of time, but that won't matter much to the average consumer, who'll just want to know which of the new Xiaomi phones is the best buy right now.
Having spent a few days with the Xiaomi 17T Pro, I can say that it's a very strong contender. It doesn't have the most powerful chip or cameras; those honors belong to the over-the-top Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the "regular" Xiaomi 17 which we saw during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March this year.

With a humongous, 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, it stands on top of Xiaomi's smartphone lineup, and a lot of potential buyers will take notice. Xiaomi says the battery is good for 1.88 days of typical use; that translates into roughly 45 hours.
SEE ALSO: Which laptops and smartphones are easiest to repair? See the rankings. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9500 chip, and comes with 12GB of RAM and 256/512/1,024GB of storage. As is typical of new phones these days, it's blazing fast and it's very hard to notice any difference in everyday performance compared to, say, the Xiaomi 17 which runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.
The camera system, while a notch less powerful than the one in the Xiaomi 17, is still pretty impressive. The Leica-branded rear camera is a 50/50/12-megapixel system with 5x optical zoom, while the front camera is a respectable 32-megapixel shooter.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro is bigger than the Xiaomi 17, with a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and 3,500 peak brightness. It looks great, and it's readable even in direct sunlight.
The 144Hz AMOLED display is very readable, even in direct sunlight. Credit: Stan Schroeder / MashableAbout that battery. Not only is the capacity large, but it also charges fast, with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. I was able to get it from zero to 80 percent in about 20 minutes on a fast charger. And then, it just went on. I played some PUBG Mobile, went out and took photos, tried a bunch of apps, and I simply couldn't get the battery to deplete. After two days of testing I still had 30 percent battery life left.
Night-time images are very bright, but it's best if you keep it to the main camera on 1x magnification. Credit: Stan Schroeder / MashableThe camera is pretty great. Xiaomi has been steadily improving the cameras on its phones, and it shows. Specifically, this is the first time Xiaomi has given a T-series phone a 5x telephoto camera (it goes to 10x optical-grade zoom).
When there's a lot of bright lights in the darkness, a lot of weird artifacts might show in the picture, especially if you're zooming in. Credit: Stan Schroeder / MashableI was able to capture some solid photos with it, and overall the camera quality was similar to the one in the Xiaomi 17. It did have a lot of trouble with bright lights in the darkness, which caused a ton of weird artifacts to show up in the photos.
Xiaomi's Super Macro mode lets you take very detailed macro photos from a distance. Credit: Stan Schroeder / MashableFor some reason, Xiaomi insists on pre-loading a bunch of bloatware on its phones. I don't mind the company's HyperOS, which is a blatant copy of Apple's iOS, but I'd like to choose the apps on my phone myself, thank you.
The sweet spot in Xiaomi's 17T Pro lineup. Credit: Stan Schroeder / MashableThe Xiaomi 17T Pro is available in three colors: Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black. Xiaomi sent me the Deep Blue variant, and it's a very nice shade of blue that made me reluctant to use the somewhat bland grey case that was included with the phone.
Besides the 17T Pro, Xiaomi also launched the Xiaomi 17T, which has a smaller, 6.59-inch display, a slightly smaller, 6,500mAh battery, a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip, up to 512GB of storage, and a slightly less powerful main camera.
As for pricing, the Xiaomi 17T Pro starts at €899, while the Xiaomi 17T starts at €749. Availability is yet to be announced.

YouTube will now let you use AI to build custom feeds of videos, in a move similar to competitors like Reddit, Bluesky, and TweetDeck X.
Announced on Wednesday, Google described the personalised feed as "a new way to shape your discovery experience," in its blog post. Essentially, YouTube users can now prompt and generate their own unique array of videos across topics, using Google's Gemini.
YouTube has been testing the AI-powered custom feed tool since Nov. 2025. According to the company, the feature will be rolling out to the U.S. for users on mobile or desktop.
SEE ALSO: AI content to be automatically labeled on YouTube — but not on YouTube KidsTo create one, users can tap the "Your custom feed" button on the home page. Then, give YouTube a prompt like you would an AI-powered chatbot, using moods, topics, or interests — YouTube gave the examples of "help me unwind after work with guided meditations under 10 minutes" and "give me something different beyond my usual feed," and said there will also be prompt suggestions.
Once you've hit enter, Gemini will then generate a content feed that you can pin to your YouTube homepage, and it will continually refresh with new videos. All prompts are editable to tweak the feed, if you're not liking the vibe of what you're seeing.
Notably, Wednesday's announcement came the same day YouTube said it's upgrading its AI labeling system to make it more prominently displayed up top. However, YouTube Kids won't get the same labels straight away. As Mashable's Chase DiBenedetto reported, YouTube told Mashable in April that it was working on it. "The company also explained that its current labeling approach doesn't apply to YouTube Kids because of other safety policies, including a lack of descriptions on Kids content," she wrote. "For now, the new labels only apply to the main YouTube website, not content found on YouTube Kids."
Spotify's podcast Clips feature lets you share a snippet with your friends instead of the entire episode — and it seems to be a win for podcasters.
Launched in May 2026, Clips is available on mobile to both Free and Premium users. It's an expansion of Chapters, which the company added in 2023 for podcasters to easily mark major moments and ad breaks.
The feature is a undeniably handy way to grab the bit of the episode that made you cackle mid-stroll or the section halfway in you know everyone's going to be talking about. For example, perhaps you want to share the section of Amy Poehler's 80-minute Good Hang interview with Billie Eilish in which they talk about the fact that she's rewatched The Office over 30 times.
SEE ALSO: How to use Spotify's Page Match feature while readingThe Clips feature is rolling out globally across a collection of podcasts, which will grow in time. If you don't have the feature yet, it's sure to show up in your mobile app soon. It's already been a positive addition for podcasters; according to Spotify, "Early testing has also shown that podcast saving increases when clips are enabled."
But how do you use it? It's very easy.
How to make a podcast clip on Spotify Total TimeStep 1: Open Spotify and find the podcast you want to clip.
Step 2: Navigate to the time you want the clip to start.
Step 3: Click on the scissors icon, beneath the playback buttons and above the comments.
Step 4: Use the trimming tool to adjust where you'd like your clip to start and end.
Step 5: Tap "Save" and the clip will be sent to a new playlist called "My Clips."
Notably, you can also share a trimmed clip directly after adjusting it — hit "Share" instead of "Save."
Step 6: Open "My Clips" in your library and scroll to your chosen clip, then tap the "Share" button (it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward from within).
Step 7: Share your clip either through Spotify's DMs or your messaging platform of choice.

Featured Video For You How TikTok is Changing the Music IndustryAbout two years ago, in March 2024, Rivian showed off its compact SUV, the Rivian R2, for the first time.
Now, it's finally time for the R2 to hit the roads.
In a blog post dated Wednesday, Rivian announced the official launch date for the R2 is June 9. The car itself isn't much of a surprise, given that it could be configured and pre-ordered for a while now, but this is the date when pre-orders turn into orders, and first customer deliveries begin.
For the folks who pre-ordered the R2, this means the company will send invitations to actually order the car soon. How soon? Well, that depends on several factors, including the date and time when they first reserved the vehicle, as well as delivery location (areas surrounding Rivian Service and Demo Centers are likely to get an order invitation sooner).
The launch comes with some caveats, though. The first vehicle available to order will be the Rivian R2 Performance with Launch Package. The R2 Premium Trim will arrive "in late 2026," while the Standard trim will follow in 2027.
Once a customer has had their order confirmed, they can expect a delivery "within 2-6 weeks," Rivian said.
The folks interested in testing out the R2 will be able to book a demo drive at Rivian Spaces, starting June 9.
SEE ALSO: Rivian R2 is a $45,000 electric SUV, but the big surprise are its little brothers, R3 and R3XThe Rivian R2 is a smaller car than the company's first SUV, the massive R1S, and it falls under the mid-size electric SUV category where it battles against Tesla Model Y, among (many) other competitors. It starts at $48,490, but that's for the Standard trim, which doesn't come until 2027. The one that's available now, the Rivian R2 Performance, starts at $57,990, and comes with an all-wheel drive system, Rivian's Automony+ driver assistance package, and an estimated EPA range of 330 miles.
For people in Europe, it's worth noting that, earlier this year, Rivian has quietly delayed its European launch timeline for the R2 from 2027 to an unspecified date. The company offered no further news about the European launch on its website.

As of May 28, Amazon has the Pokémon TCG: Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection on sale for $54.50, down from the standard $69.99 price it was at during most of the pre-order cycle. This deal knocks 22% off the set and saves you $15.49 compared to buying at full price, far lower than when we’ve covered this box previously.
The listing is shipped and sold by Amazon, with free delivery listed for June 4-8.
There are some even lower prices elsewhere for those willing to shop outside of Amazon. TCGplayer currently has the Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection listed for $50.98 with shipping included, nearly matching the current market price of $50.09. Walmart is also showing the same collection for $53.69, though that listing is sold through a reseller rather than directly by Walmart.

Jimmy Kimmel is not a popular figure with Donald Trump and his allies, and now he's drawn the wrath of Fox once again after an online exchange with the Secretary of Health.
"RFK Jr. posted something from a parody website that he believed proved his thesis that liberal comedy is on the decline because we make fun of him," explains Kimmel in the clip above. "I responded by pointing out a dumb spelling error he made, and that exchange caught the eyes of the gang at the Fox Business channel."
Kimmel's exact response on Instagram was to correct RJK Jr.'s misspelling of the word "nadir", after which he wrote: "Now get back to spreading polio."
Unsurprisingly, the hosts of Fox Business, Dagen McDowell and Brian Brenberg, weren't impressed, as Kimmel showed in a clip.
"Polio is not funny," says McDowell. "Chickenpox is kind of funny. Um, shingles. I've had shingles. Shingles is funny."
"Alright, OK, well that's helpful at least. Shingles is funny. What about chlamydia, is chlamydia funny?" asks Kimmel. "See, we can work together, let's punch this up."
Kimmel also had something to say about the Fox Business guest who was asked to comment during the program, fitness instructor and media personality Jillian Michaels.
"What do you think, Jillian?" laughs Kimmel. "How did it come to this? Trump raided that network to fill his cabinet positions and now there's nobody left to be on it."
TL;DR: Target's Pokémon 30th Anniversary Collection is returning for a second drop on June 6, with more than 40 new items launching online at 8 a.m. CT and in most stores when doors open. The new wave includes apparel, accessories, collectibles, travel gear, summer essentials, and online-only Johto and Hoenn Starter Jackets. It’s now available to check out at Target.
If you missed the first wave of Target’s Pokémon takeover, you’ve got another shot at filling your cart with the ultimate Pocket Monster wardrobe.
Target announced that it’s bringing back its Pokémon x Target 30th Anniversary Collection for a second drop on June 6, and this time the lineup is leaning into the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn regions. This means plenty of Gen-Three Pokémon.
On June 6, the second Pokémon x Target drop will be available to shop on Target from 8 a.m. CT and in most Target stores at opening. Target is limiting purchases to one unit per item, per guest, both online and in stores, which should hopefully give more fans a fair shot at grabbing something without resellers taking everything for themselves.
Credit: Pokémon/Nintendo/Creatures/GAME FREAK/TargetAltogether, the second drop includes more than 40 products across apparel, accessories, collectibles, travel, and summer categories.
Standout items include 151-piece puzzles designed around Pokédex-accurate Pokémon heights, Pokédex-inspired graphic tees with hidden inside-shirt graphics, Poké Ball kickballs, water-resistant Dive Ball speakers, Snorlax and Poké Ball towels, and other water-type accessories for anyone making a statement at the beach this summer.
The big-ticket items, however, are the new Pokémon Starter Jackets inspired by the Johto and Hoenn regions. If the Kanto jacket was any indication of how popular these are going to be, they won’t hang around for long.
On June 7 at 8 a.m. CT, Target will also open preorders for a second wave of all three Starter Jackets, including the returning Kanto version, with delivery expected later this winter.
Credit: Pokémon/Nintendo/Creatures/GAME FREAK/TargetMore than half of the assortment is priced under $20, with items starting at $8.
If you plan on shopping online, we recommend signing up for a Target Circle account ahead of time; that way, you’ll be able to check out much faster once this latest drop goes live.

What are Moon phases?According to NASA, the Moon takes around 29.5 days to orbit Earth, passing through a repeating pattern of eight distinct phases. Although the same side of the Moon always faces Earth, the portion illuminated by the Sun changes as it moves around the planet. This is what creates the different shapes we see in the night sky, from thin crescents to half Moons and the full Moon. Together, these phases form the lunar cycle:
New Moon - The Moon is between Earth and the sun, so the side we see is dark (in other words, it's invisible to the eye).
Waxing Crescent - A small sliver of light appears on the right side (Northern Hemisphere).
First Quarter - Half of the Moon is lit on the right side. It looks like a half-Moon.
Waxing Gibbous - More than half is lit up, but it’s not quite full yet.
Full Moon - The whole face of the Moon is illuminated and fully visible.
Waning Gibbous - The Moon starts losing light on the right side. (Northern Hemisphere)
Third Quarter (or Last Quarter) - Another half-Moon, but now the left side is lit.
Waning Crescent - A thin sliver of light remains on the left side before going dark again.

The sports Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. Each puzzle features 16 words, and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.
If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake — players get up to four mistakes before the game ends.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.
