SAVE $50: As of Dec. 11, Amazon has the Apple AirPods Pro 3 on sale for $199. That's 20% off the list price of $249 and their lowest price to date.
Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple AirPods Pro 3 $199 at AmazonIf you grabbed Apple's AirPods Pro 3 on Black Friday, I'm sending my condolences. The same earbuds are now $20 cheaper — great news for those who still have them on their list.
As of Dec. 11, the AirPods Pro 3 are now on sale for just $199 at Amazon. That's 20% or $50 off the list price of $249 and a new best price ever for the premium Apple earbuds. Walmart kicked off the record-low pricing in the early hours of the day, but it didn't take long for Amazon to give 'em the old price match. At the time of writing, Best Buy and Target have yet to join in on the fun (both retailers currently have them on sale for $219.99).
"The AirPods Pro pop up on most best of lists, and though we've always been fans, the third generation takes these earbuds to a new level," writes Mashable's reviewer. The new Apple AirPods Pro 3 feature better noise cancellation (twice as good as the Pro 2s), better battery life (eight hours with ANC, 10 hours in transparency mode), and new foam-infused tips that come in five sizes to find the right fit. They also brought the heart rate monitoring tech from the Powerbeats Pro 2 (our favorite earbuds for working out) and Fitness app compatibility to the Pro 3s, and introduced a live translation feature.
If you already have the AirPods Pro 2, we don't think it's necessarily worth an upgrade, but if you're debating between the Pro 2 and Pro 3, this price drop really seals the deal. Go with the AirPods Pro 3.
Disney is investing $1 billion in OpenAI, the entertainment giant announced on Thursday. As part of the deal, OpenAI users will be able to create AI images and videos featuring some of Disney's copyrighted characters.
OpenAI recently launched Sora, an AI video generation app powered by the Sora 2 video model, which allows users to create short videos by typing in a text prompt. When the app first launched, it freely used copyrighted characters from companies like Disney, before OpenAI ultimately cracked down. Now, users will be able to create content on Sora using characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars universes.
The deal also extends to ChatGPT, where users will be able to create images with these characters just by entering a text prompt.
“The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence marks an important moment for our industry, and through this collaboration with OpenAI, we will thoughtfully and responsibly extend the reach of our storytelling through generative AI, while respecting and protecting creators and their works,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement.
"Bringing together Disney’s iconic stories and characters with OpenAI’s groundbreaking technology puts imagination and creativity directly into the hands of Disney fans in ways we’ve never seen before," he said.
Disney also said that it will now become a "major customer" of OpenAI, and that it will be using its API to "build new products, tools, and experiences," as well as deploy ChatGPT for its employees.
SEE ALSO: The best Disney+ deals and bundles in December 2025While Disney has cozied up with OpenAI, the company has taken a very different approach with other AI companies. In June 2025, Disney and Universal filed a lawsuit against AI company Midjourney, calling the AI image generator a "bottomless pit of plagiarism."
Sora ruffled some feathers when it launched this September, too, with the Motion Picture Association urging OpenAI to take action against copyright infringement on the platform.
Disclosure: Ziff Davis, Mashable’s parent company, in April filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging it infringed Ziff Davis copyrights in training and operating its AI systems.

SAVE $143: As of Dec. 11, the LG 34-inch UltraGear WQHD curved gaming monitor is on sale for $356.99. That's 29% or $143 off its list price — the lowest price on record at Amazon.

As of Dec. 11, the LG 34-inch UltraGear WQHD curved gaming monitor is down to just $356.99 — nearly 30% off its list price of $499.99. That's its lowest price on record at Amazon and $3 cheaper than it was on Black Friday.
The ultra-wide curved display of the LG UltraGear WQHD takes you from just playing games to being submerged in them. The 34-inch display features a steep 1500R curvature and a 21:9 aspect ratio, so the screen will essentially wrap the action around you as you play. If you've never had a curved monitor before, it does take a bit of getting used to. But everyone from gamers to artists to multitaskers can benefit from the beauty of a wrap-around monitor. They do take up a bit more desk real estate than a typical monitor, so be sure you have to space available before you snag one.
As far as gaming specs go, it offers a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time (which could certainly be speedier), and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility. It also features Dynamic Action Sync, an FPS counter, a black stabilizer, and plenty of ports for your peripherals. It's not the most premium gaming monitor on the market, but it'll suit most casual gamers just fine. It also does pretty well as a regular monitor for work and everyday scrolling and streaming. A premium OLED monitor can cost you over $1,000, so the LG 34-inch UltraGear WQHD is quite the steal at $356.99.

Mashable Tech Editor Timothy Beck Werth praised these headphones for having "close" to the best sound he's ever heard, and that their "elite noise cancellation, comfortable fit, and travel-friendly design" do justify their usually high price tag.

In a move that, well, certainly feels unexpected, you can now play Fortnite as Kim Kardashian. The game announced limited-edition skins of the reality star. They also released an emote harkening back to that famous "break the internet" cover of Paper magazine from 2014.

Kardashian herself posted about it on X.

On Friday, December 5, Netflix announced that it would be acquiring Warner Bros. in a deal worth $82.7 billion. That made them the winners of a bidding war that kicked off in September, when Paramount just out of nowhere went, "hey, Warner Bros., mind if I buy you?" But Paramount's not quitting just yet. What is going on? Why is everyone going after Warner Bros.? And how is this going to impact TV and film going forward? Let's break it down.

SAVE $600: The DJI Power 2000 is on sale at Amazon for $699, down from the list price of $1,299. That's a 46% discount that matches the lowest we've ever seen at Amazon.
Opens in a new window Credit: DJI DJI Power 2000 portable power station $699 at AmazonWe're in the thick of unstable weather these days. Our social media and news feeds are filled with weather warnings of atmospheric rivers, wind advisories, and cold snaps. That means power outages are plentiful. If you're not interested in dealing with the inconvenience that entails, a portable power station could be the best solution, and there's a major sale in store today.
As of Dec. 11, the DJI Power 2000 is on sale for $699 at Amazon, marked down from the usual price of $1,299. That works out to a savings of $600 from a 46% discount. It also matches the lowest we've ever seen at Amazon.
DJI is a favorite brand among content creators, making a phenomenal lineup of drones, cameras, and mics. But it's worth paying attention to the DJI power station lineup, too. In my testing of portable power stations, the DJI Power 2000 is the perfect model for creators.
Thanks to the dual SDC ports, drone owners can utilize DJI's fast charging. Other port options include two 140W USB-C, two 65W USB-C, four 24W USB-A, three AC, and even a 30amp.
SEE ALSO: Gift your content-creator friend the DJI Mic Mini while it's on sale for just $45In real-life situations, the DJI Power 2000's 2,048Wh can keep a WiFi router powered on for over 150 hours or a refrigerator for about 40 hours. Both of those will sure come in handy during the next power cut. Of course, you'll also be able to keep phones charged up.
Keep in mind, DJI is facing issues with getting products into the U.S., and it's nearly impossible to purchase directly from DJI right now. Instead, this Amazon deal is sold by a third-party seller. Mashable generally advises against buying from these sellers on Amazon, but DJI products have proven to be an exception since third-party is often the only way to snag a DJI product right now (and this one has positive ratings). Due to the nature of shipping portable power stations, the DJI Power 2000 is listed as non-returnable at Amazon, which is something to keep in mind before buying.
If this doesn't sound appealing, consider the DJI Power 1000, which is currently on sale for $349 or 50% off its normal price of $699. This sale price on Amazon is offered directly by DJI. You'll be halving the power offered from the DJI Power 2000, but it's also half the price.
In either case, DJI makes solid portable power stations. If you're looking for better protection during the next storm, the DJI Power 2000 is down to the record-low price of $699 today.
The Daily Show's Desi Lydic took aim at Donald Trump's treatment of female reporters, calling out the president's repeated misogynist insults on Wednesday night's show.
Trump has a long history of verbally attacking women journalists, but recently the president has made more than one recent headline with his offensive, childish, and degrading comments — despite the White House insisting "this has nothing to do with gender."
On The Daily Show, Lydic showed a montage of Trump's comments, before responding:
"Mr. Trump, just a quick follow up. What the f*** is your problem?"
"God, this guy is exhausting. It's like he won't stop until he gives every woman in the country resting Melania face. Can you just try being nice to a woman just once?"
Seth Meyers used his "A Closer Look" segment on Late Night to examine the current state of the U.S. economy, and it's not the A+++++ President Donald Trump awarded himself with.
"As I'm sure you guys know, the economy is awesome," said Meyers. "The other day, I went to the grocery store and bought some coffee, some bananas, some ground beef, and, long story short, I have to keep doing this show until 2038."
The late night host took a deep dive into historic levels of job loss and rising consumer prices for basic necessities for Americans, including the increase in energy prices.
"Costs on everything from food to electricity are soaring while employers are shedding jobs," said Meyers. "This is when a president needs to show empathy, demonstrate that he understands the plight of hard working Americans and oh no, as I'm saying this, I'm remembering who I'm talking about and realising there's no f***ing way he's going to do that."
Meyers threw to Trump's recent interview with POLITICO's Dasha Burns, in which the president awarded his economy an "A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus" grade.
"Now, of course, it won't surprise you to learn that Trump's assessment of the economy is very much at odds with how pretty much everyone else feels about it," said Meyers, and he's right. Americans are deeply concerned with the current state of the U.S. economy. According to a Fox News poll, 76 percent of voters view the economy negatively, with voters blaming Trump; the New York Times reports 38 percent of voters approve of how the president is handling the economy while 61 percent disapprove.
"So it's less of an A-plus-plus-plus-plus and more of an F-minus-minus-minus-minus-minus," said Meyers.
Wrapping up, Meyers concluded, "Trump is running up against the same problem Biden had. You can't convince people the economy is good when they can see the truth with their own eyes, every time they buy groceries or pay their heating bills."
'Tis the season to deck the halls, don our gay apparel, and argue with family about what actually qualifies as a Christmas movie. Who better to settle these debates than the cast of Oh. What. Fun., the now-streaming comedy about a family whose festive fumblings lead to a barrage of holiday hijinks.
Michelle Pfeiffer, Denis Leary, Chloë Grace Moretz, Felicity Jones, and Dominic Sessa play a family in the Michael Showalter-helmed film. But with Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko, they played "Does It Ring Christmas?" — a game where, if a movie title rings true to Christmas to you, you ring a jingle bell.
Die Hard is just the tip of the iceberg. Mashable asked about a string of movies that internet users have proclaimed a "Christmas movie." We're talking Eyes Wide Shut, Gremlins, Trading Places, Lethal Weapon, and Batman Returns, which also famously stars Pfeiffer as an anti-heroine who has had enough.
The Oh. What. Fun. cast also weighed in on the holiday classics they gravitate toward each yuletide, giving answers like The Family Stone, It's a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, Elf, and Bad Santa.
Yet asked what Christmas movie is best paired with Oh. What. Fun., there was one clear answer. Watch the video above to the end to find out!

So if you've been struggling, frustrated, and worried about rising prices of late, the president has some "sound advice," as Stephen Colbert pointed out during his Late Show monologue on Wednesday night. During a Pennsylvania rally on Wednesday, Trump told Americans they should "give up certain products."
"You can give up pencils," the president said. "That's under the China policy, you know, every child can get 37 pencils, they only need one or two, you know, they don't need that many."
"How much does he think pencils cost?" asked Colbert on The Late Show. "Our fact-checkers checked, a pack of pencils is $4.36 on Amazon. So saving money on pencils may not be the stupidest thing he's ever said, but I'm gonna say it's number two."

Lily Allen possibly turning West End Girl into a West End play? MAKE IT SO.
The artist joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show to unpack writing the most talked-about album of the year, in which Allen airs more than dirty laundry on her tempestuous open relationship with Stranger Things star David Harbour.
When Fallon mentions the album's runaway success has lead to the potential development of a play in London, Allen doesn't give much away but says, "That's true."
"Are you involved with that?" asks the host.
"I might be," says Allen. "The ink is not dry, but I'm definitely having some conversations with people, it's very exciting."
The idea of turning West End Girl track "Pussy Palace" into a stage number is all I need to get through the day, to be honest, but remembering the lyrics to "West End Girl" and a certain someone's reaction to Allen's previous West End success might get me through the whole year.
